Virgilio Valente

He goes deep into theory but also does a lot of practice problems. All lectures are posted and is organized. His exams are hard though. Overall, a great professor that I would take again.

This guy is amazing. Teaches well and if you watch all lectures, there's no reason you shouldnt get under an 80 on this course.

Professor VV is AWESOME. For ELE404 the class isn't exactly a walk in the park, but just paying attention in lectures and doing the assignment problems will suffice to get you a good mark. ALSO he posts lecture recordings/notes, lecture recordings/notes are extremely consistent and reliable.

He explains concepts really well and is easy to reach outside class. All lectures are recorded, so you can review anytime at home. Labs are pretty easy, and the midterm and final are very similar to the practice problems, so focus on those. He's also generous and gives a noticeable curve on exams.

He focuses a lot on theory even though it's not really that important for the exams. He does do a lot of examples which help build the process for basic circuits and posts practice assignments with solutions to study from.

He posts his lecture recordings and notes, so it makes more sense to pay attention to what he says during lectures and take notes from the recordings. The course itself may be challenging, so try your best to complete all assignment problems, and you should be good for the midterm and finals.

Teaches good but when you show him your wrongly marked exam he doesn't care

He explains theory VERY well and same with the course content in general. Also he loves to answer questions and help students at his office hours. Amazing person as well. Just be aware his exams are kinda cooked but he marks on a curve ;) haha. Just dont slack off and do ALL the practice problems he posts and you'll be fine.

This is one of the greatest professors I have ever taken in my life. The only reason my grade is not an A+ is simply because I did not apply myself enough in this class. While the class can be hard, Valente does a great job at making the course easier on his students. I truly mean this, Valente is THE prof you want for this class.

love this guy, his lectures are very relavent to the course, the material as well as how it relates and connects to the real world. Doesn't waste time yapping about unnecessary theory and has GREAT explanations for the material. Exams are always the assignment questions which he takes up a few every now and then so focus on doing those!
